Algorithm Engineer

A pioneering Bio-Convergence startup is revolutionizing medicinal chemistry by bridging high-end laboratory experimentation with advanced computational physics. Unlike purely AI-driven platforms, this company utilizes a unique in-lab chemical POC to validate and accelerate the drug discovery process.

Recently established with significant Seed funding and an exceptional 5-year runway, the company is led by a CTO (PhD in Physics) and is currently building its core scientific research team.

Role Overview:

• Founding Scientist: Serving as the first algorithmic hire under the CTO, taking ownership of the research-to-production lifecycle.
• Advanced Algorithmic Development: Designing and implementing complex models based on physics, computational geometry, and scientific simulations.
• Multidisciplinary Innovation: Solving non-trivial problems in molecular design and optimization using a diverse toolkit of mathematical methodologies.
• Strategic Leadership: Identifying potential bottlenecks in the discovery process and providing innovative solutions, with high potential for future leadership and team management.
• Cross-Domain Integration: Working at the intersection of Machine Learning, scientific computing, and physical laboratory methods.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics – Mandatory.
• Experience Level: 2+ years post-PhD OR 5+ years of industry experience following an M.Sc. – Mandatory.
• Deep professional expertise in Machine Learning – Mandatory.
• Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: Scientific Simulation, Cryptography, Computational Geometry, Quantum Algorithms, or Dynamic Programming – Mandatory.
• Strong Coding skills (language of choice) with the ability to implement research into production – Mandatory.
• Proven background in an early-stage Startup environment – Significant Advantage.
• Previous research experience in Bioinformatics or related fields – Significant Advantage
