Rust Software Engineer

A successful Retail-Tech startup is transforming the traditional shopping experience by developing an automated platform based on Computer Vision and AI.

Their technology retrofits existing supermarkets, turning them into fully autonomous digital stores where customers can pick up items and walk out without passing through a checkout counter.

Using a sophisticated sensor fusion approach similar to autonomous vehicle technology, they have secured significant funding to scale their global deployment.

The company is located in Central Israel (train-accessible) and operates a hybrid work model with remote flexibility.

Role Overview:

• Joining an organic development team to build high-performance, low-latency systems.
• Developing robust software in Rust over Linux environments to handle real-time data processing.
• Architecting and maintaining Microservices and distributed systems to support massive-scale retail operations.
• Working with advanced messaging and caching layers to ensure high system availability and accuracy.
• Playing a key role in the upcoming transition from On-Premise infrastructure to Cloud-based environments.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in C, C++, or Rust development – Mandatory.
• Deep proficiency in Linux environments – Mandatory.
• Strong understanding of Microservice architecture, including hands-on development and deployment – Mandatory.
• Solid background in building event-based and message-driven distributed systems – Mandatory.
• Deep knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals: object-oriented design, algorithmic complexity, and code optimization – Mandatory.
• Proven experience in high-performance, decentralized development and parallel processing – Mandatory.
• Familiarity with Redis, Kafka, or Kubernetes – Significant Advantage.
