Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Israel?

We Offer

A traineeship of up to 6 months in 2026 within the Cooperation (COOP)) Section of the EU Delegation to Israel, subject to availability of the budget. The tentative start date is 15 May 2026.

The Cooperation Section is in charge of the conception, elaboration, implementation and evaluation of cooperation strategies and programmes in the framework of EU-IL bilateral cooperation, including regional cooperation under the authority of the Head of Delegation.

It is responsible for the design of calls for proposals, preparation and management of human rights and democracy projects (funded under the EU's European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR)), Civil society projects as well as peace-related projects (under the EU peace building Initiative).

In parallel, the section is in charge of the follow up of Education and Cultural areas at the EU Delegation. The section is also working towards ensuring a good and wide communication of the outcomes of the EU funded projects implemented in Israel – in close coordination with the Political section.

Main Tasks

• Attending and organizing meetings & working groups with stakeholders and EU MS.
• Drafting minutes of the meetings, as well as speeches for the events.
• Researching and compiling documentation, reports, consultations, answering queries.
• Support on the project management and project monitoring missions.
• Support also the work of the Trade and Economic and the Research and innovation sections
  
  

We Look For

Qualifications or special requirements:

• Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in [Israel] will only be considered. The Delegation of the European Union does not guarantee the issuance of permits allowing selected applicants to work. [In reference to Ares(2025)8190287]
• Excellent knowledge of English
• Excellent writing skills
• Knowledge of Hebrew and/or Arabic would be an asset
• Previous experience in a diplomatic mission would be an asset

Important information to read before applying

Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship).

Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to travels, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.

The traineeships can only be offered in compliance with the local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.

Citizens From EU Member States

• must provide proof that they will be covered against the risk of a pandemic and the costs of repatriation;
• must hold a relevant entrance visa and / or temporary residence permit where applicable, based on the traineeship agreement, the duration of the traineeship, and in compliance with the local legislation.
