Senior Software Engineer

A fast-growing, profitable data company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team. The company specializes in transforming raw, scattered web data into clean, reliable, production-grade pipelines - helping organizations in public safety, cybersecurity, and business intelligence cut through the noise and focus on what matters.

The role sits at the core of a brand-new product being built from the ground up. You'll be shaping architecture, driving features end to end, and collaborating closely with product and engineering. If you thrive when the problem is hard and the stakes are real, this might be the right next step.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain robust backend services in Node.js and TypeScript
• Architect and deliver high-performance, event-driven systems on AWS built for scale and reliability
• Own database design and optimization with PostgreSQL and other data stores
• Drive features from design to deployment in close collaboration with product and engineering
• Raise the bar on code quality and security, and help others do the same
• Stay sharp and pick up new tools as the product and tech stack evolve

What the role requires

• 5+ years of production experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Solid hands-on knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS)
• Strong command of PostgreSQL or other SQL databases
• Deep understanding of system design, event-driven architecture, and scalability principles
• Experience with modern testing frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, or Playwright
• A track record of adapting quickly in fast-moving environments
• Strong independent problem-solving ability
• Clear, collaborative communicator who works well across teams

Great to have

• Experience with distributed or event-driven systems
• Familiarity with Temporal
• Hands-on work with LLMs or modern AI tooling
• Knowledge of React
• Experience with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB or MongoDB
• Exposure to Graph databases
• Experience with AWS Athena
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
