Data Engineer ( BI & Data Warehouse )

Sheba Medical Center, Israel’s largest and most advanced healthcare organization, is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our BI & Data team and take part in building large-scale data solutions within a complex, data-driven medical environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse data ecosystems, advanced analytics infrastructures, and impactful healthcare data that directly supports clinical and operational decision-making.

Role Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL processes across multiple systems and data sources into the organizational Data Warehouse.
• Implement complex data transformations, integrations, validations, and scheduling processes.
• Develop and maintain enterprise data models and BI infrastructure.
• Collaborate within a team of BI developers and data professionals.
• Gather and analyze business requirements, perform data exploration, and define reporting specifications.
• Support the establishment and ongoing development of the organizational Data Warehouse.
• Deliver data-driven solutions using existing organizational data capabilities alongside new technologies.
• Perform system testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshoot production issues.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience working with SQL databases, including tables, indexing, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
• Strong hands-on experience with ETL processes and Data Architecture concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft data technologies: SQL Server, SSIS, OLAP Cubes / Tabular models.
• Experience developing BI models and working according to BI methodologies.
• Advanced SQL query writing skills.
• Experience working with multiple databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA, etc.).
• Experience working in an Agile environment – advantage.
• Experience with analytical BI tools.
• Ability to work independently in a multi-project environment.
• Python knowledge – advantage.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
