Single molecule biophysicist

Genopore is a biotechnology start-up company developing ground-breaking technology for single-molecule sensing.

We are looking for a biophysicist / bioengineer to bridge interdisciplinary gaps and play a key role in the integration of our protein identification nano-sensor device. The work focuses on measurement and analysis of single molecule (DNA, protein) fluorescence measurements in an electro-optical system capable of single photon detection. The work further includes sensor chip characterization, integration with microfluidic housing, and preparing the fluid buffers and biomolecules needed for testing.

The work includes:

·      Single molecule (DNA, protein) fluorescence measurements in an electro-optical system capable of single photon detection and using the sensor chip

·      Sensor chip characterization, integration with a microfluidic housing, and preparing the fluid buffers and biomolecules needed for the testing

·      Data analysis and troubleshooting is expected to be part of the routine activities

Essential Skills

MS or PhD in Physics, Biomedical Engineering or a similar domain

At least 2 years of hands-on lab experience.

Experience working on a wet bench to implement biochemical protocols related to proteins and/or DNA.

Experience with optical microscopy, lasers, filters, fluorescence detection.

Solid understanding of the biophysics associated with fluorescence-based detection.

Desired Skills

Experience with single molecule measurement.

Experience with microfluidics.

Experience with lab automation.

Experience coding in Pyhton
