Overview

Magic Group is hiring a Head of Finance to take full ownership of operational and strategic finance across the business.

The Head of Finance should bring financial visibility, discipline, and accountability across the group. You should bring strategic vision for optimising financial performance, and the ability and experience to execute it successfully. You will also act as the founder’s representative and advocate across all areas of his personal and corporate finances.

This is a hands-on finance leadership role requiring Big Four training, startup experience, and the maturity to operate independently in a multi-jurisdiction, founder-led environment.

Core Responsibilities

1. Magic Group – Operational Finance

• Full financial oversight across UK, US, UAE entities
• Ownership of management reporting, cash flow visibility, and financial controls
• Tax optimisation and jurisdiction planning (including cross-border structuring and founder residency implications)
• Oversight of outsourced accountants and local compliance providers
• Coordination of all external advisors (tax, legal, etc.)
• Implementing spend discipline and financial accountability
• Identifying inefficiencies, risk exposure, and missed optimisation opportunities

2. Founder Office – Financial Oversight

• Act as the founder’s point of contact for all financial matters
• Collaborate with the founder to define long-term strategic goals and develop clear operational plans to achieve them
• Facilitate clear and effective financial communication internally and externally, ensuring no one is working in silos and priorities are aligned across all pillars of the business.
• Lead calls with banks, accountants, lawyers, investment partners, and wealth managers across multiple jurisdictions, triangulating advice and intelligence and translating it into coherent, coordinated strategy.
• Evaluate tax structures, fees, jurisdictional implications
• Review fund agreements and coordinate legal documentation
• Create clear visibility on liquidity, exposure, and commitments
• Provide structured analysis to support decision-making.

This role does not act as a wealth manager or investment advisor. It acts as a financial quarterback, ensuring decisions are structured, reviewed, and operationally sound.

3. Investment Administration

• Track investment schedules and payment timelines
• Maintain documentation and governance
• Coordinate advisors and legal review
• Maintain cap table clarity where applicable

Deal sourcing and investment strategy remain external.

Candidate Requirements

• Big Four background (minimum 4 years)
• Chartered accountant; ACA (UK) or CPA (US) preferred. ACCA is considered with significant Big Four experience.
• Startup or high-growth company exposure
• Cross-border corporate and personal tax experience (UK/UAE/US jurisdictions preferred)
• Strong technical accounting foundation

Structure

• Reports directly to Founder
• Manages junior finance resources
• Relationship lead with external accountants and financial advisors, coordinating between all
• High-calibre fractional candidates preferred; Full-time considered
