Core Systems Team Lead

SHVA is looking for a Core Systems Team Lead to lead the development and maintenance of mission-critical core systems for an organization of national importance.

You will be part of the team that maintains Israel's vital financial infrastructure in a challenging, and modern environment that integrates core development, automation, and operations.

• Team Leadership: Lead a team of developers and system engineers in a Micro Focus COBOL environment.
• System Ownership: Manage and develop core systems on sensitive, mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring maximum stability and performance.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, other R&D teams, and System/Infrastructure departments.
• Batch Management: Oversee and manage complex Batch processes using Control-M.
• Version Control: Implement and manage version control processes using Git/GitLab.
• Incident Management: Lead real-time troubleshooting of complex issues and conduct professional root-cause analysis (RCA).
• Availability: Ensure 24/7 system availability and operational continuity.

• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role (Team Lead) in Software Development or System Engineering.
• Significant experience with Core Systems, Legacy systems, or Critical Infrastructure.
• Proven experience with Micro Focus COBOL – a significant advantage.
• Strong proficiency with Control-M and complex Batch management.
• Expertise in Git/GitLab and version control methodologies.
• Experience working in Windows-based environments.
• Exceptional ability to solve complex technical issues in real-time under pressure.

Readiness to work in a high-availability environment, including weekends  when necessary.
