We are expanding our team with a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and evolve our cloud infrastructure as we scale globally.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own the architecture, reliability, and performance of the infrastructure behind Helen Doron’s digital products. You will design scalable and secure solutions, ensure 99.9%+ availability, and drive a culture of automation and operational excellence.

A critical aspect of this role is evaluating the cost, effort, and operational impact of all infrastructure and DevOps decisions. You will continuously optimize cloud spend, validate ROI, and ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining strong reliability and security standards.

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will collaborate closely with backend, product, and QA team members to deliver high‑quality, cost‑efficient systems at scale.

·      Lead, design, build, and maintain our cloud infrastructure supporting mobile apps, web apps, and all global websites.

·      Architect reliable, secure, and highly available systems with a target of 99.9% or higher uptime.

·      Conduct thorough cost and effort analyses for new infrastructure designs, architecture changes, tools, and services.

·      Champion cloud modernization and long‑term scalability for both monolithic and microservices‑based systems.

·      Own the reliability, observability, and performance of production systems.

·      Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (Grafana, Elasticsearch, Splunk, etc.).

·      Continuously evaluate the cost-performance trade‑offs of monitoring, storage, compute, and network solutions.

·      Proactively identify risks, resolve incidents, and lead post‑incident reviews to drive continuous improvement.

·      Lead the creation, optimization, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines across development teams.

·      Manage build, test, and deployment processes — deep experience with GitHub Actions is a strong advantage.

·      Automate infrastructure provisioning, operational workflows, and incident response.

·      Work closely with engineering, QA, data, and product teams to deliver scalable and efficient solutions.

·      Provide guidance, mentorship, and DevOps best practices to the broader engineering organization.

·      Evaluate cost, effort, timelines, and resource requirements for infrastructure initiatives and major engineering projects.

·      Promote a culture of ownership, transparency, and operational excellence.

·      8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles.

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.

·      Proven experience working with both monolithic and microservices architectures.

·      Experience with ECS and other container orchestration solutions.

·      Deep expertise with AWS cloud (VPC, EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, etc.).

·      Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred; CloudFormation an advantage).

·      Experience implementing log management, monitoring, and observability platforms.

·      Demonstrated ability to assess costs, effort, and long‑term implications of infrastructure and DevOps decisions.

·      Strong CI/CD experience; GitHub Actions expertise is highly regarded.

·      Excellent troubleshooting abilities across distributed systems.

·      A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and passion for automation and reliability.

·      Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

·      Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).

·      Cloud security knowledge and experience implementing robust security practices.

·      Familiarity with CDN, global traffic routing, and content delivery systems.

·      Experience building internal tooling and improving developer experience.

·      Background in high‑traffic consumer applications or educational tech.

·      Familiarity with NodeJS servers and codebase

·      Influence and scale the infrastructure behind globally loved educational products.
