Space Camera System Engineer – Leading Defense Company

📍 Rehovot

Role Description:

▪ Perform system engineering tasks for the development of advanced space cameras from design stage through integration and delivery

▪ Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in electronics, mechanics, materials, algorithms, reliability, and more

▪ Analyze requirements and translate them into detailed engineering specifications

▪ Prepare system documents, specifications, design documentation, and test plans

▪ Manage and update system performance budgets throughout development phases

▪ Plan and execute development tests, including experiment planning, test supervision, data analysis, and drawing conclusions

▪ Update the integration plan (MITP) according to engineering, functional, and environmental requirements

▪ Define integration and testing stages and develop dedicated tools to improve efficiency

▪ Hands‑on work in assembly and testing laboratories

▪ Define integration infrastructure needs, support procurement processes, and manage subcontractors

Requirements:

▪ B.Sc. in Electro‑Optics / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Physics – required

▪ M.Sc. in Engineering – advantage

▪ 3+ years of experience in integration of multidisciplinary systems – required

▪ 3+ years of experience in electro‑optical system engineering – required

▪ Experience in requirements analysis, writing specifications, interface definition, and V&V planning

▪ Experience with Matlab / Python / LabVIEW for data analysis

▪ Understanding of camera calibration processes and image quality analysis – advantage

▪ Familiarity with space system development – advantage

▪ Strong interpersonal communication, fast learning ability, analytical thinking, high motivation, and strong attention to detail
