Entra ID Security Engineer

The Junior Entra ID / IAM Operations Engineer supports secure and stable operations of the company’s global Identity & Access Management (IAM) services, with a focus on Microsoft Entra ID. The role is part of the Authentication Squad within the IAM Product Line and contributes to operational excellence, compliance, automation, and user experience across the organization. This position is designed for early‑career talent who want to develop technical and operational skills in a global, modern, and automation‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Outputs

Operational Responsibilities

Process standard incidents and service requests in Microsoft Entra ID following operational runbooks and ITIL aligned procedures.

Perform basic IAM lifecycle tasks such as user provisioning, access troubleshooting, group management, and initial application onboarding.

Support the maintenance of IAM configurations under guidance from senior engineers.

Create and maintain documentation for internal teams, service desk, and end users.

Support standardization and the handover of repetitive tasks to L1 support.

Service & Process Excellence

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance stability, efficiency, and service quality.

Support audit readiness and compliance with internal security policies.

Collaborate with platform teams (Active Directory, ADFS, sync services), service management, and external providers.

Agentic AI & Automation Integration

Contribute to the squad’s strategic initiative to embed Agentic AI across IAM operations as part of the modernization and automation roadmap.

Work with AI assisted runbooks, automated workflows, and intelligent troubleshooting tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Support the validation, testing, and continuous improvement of Agentic AI–generated operational outputs (e.g., recommended actions, automated remediations, incident triage suggestions).

Collaborate with senior engineers and platform teams to identify further opportunities where Agentic AI can streamline operations and improve user experience.

Ensure all AI enabled workflows adhere to organizational security, compliance, and auditability standards.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Interaction

Work closely with the global Authentication Squad members located in Germany, India, Poland, and the USA.

Interface with service partners and internal stakeholders across IAM, Workplace, and IT platform teams.

Support smooth onboarding of new applications and services into IAM operations.

Optional (depending on readiness): Participate in on call rotation after sufficient ramp up and demonstrated capability.

Qualifications & Competencies & Skills

Essential

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or comparable practical experience.

Basic understanding of identity, authentication, and cloud concepts.

Initial familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD (through university, labs, certifications, or internships).

Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell or Python) with strong willingness to learn.

Strong English communication skills due to the global team environment.

Analytical mindset, customer orientation, and a proactive learning attitude.
