Safety and Compliance Officer – Aviation

The role:

We are supporting our client in the search for a Safety and Compliance Officer to act as deputy to the Safety and Compliance Manager for the Israeli branch. This role supports safety, quality, and compliance management across operations, owning key aspects of the safety reporting system, coordinating audits, and ensuring adherence to regulations in a fast-paced aviation environment. The position requires stepping in during the manager's absence to maintain continuity in safety matters.

Responsibilities:

• Play a key role in managing the safety culture by owning the safety reporting system, promoting corrective actions, and ensuring effective communication.
• Keep track of safety trends and escort management of changes in operations.
• Coordinate audits, develop checklists, and communicate with international entities while actively participating in audits.
• Support quality control and compliance across operational departments.
• Assist in keeping adherence to local and international regulations to maintain full alignment with all applicable standards and requirements.
• Assist department managers with compliance-related matters, including preparation for audits and documentation updates.
• Proactively track audit progress, verify corrective actions, and ensure timely closures.
• Support the safety manager in implementing and managing the Safety Management System (SMS) and Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
• Step in during the safety manager’s absence, ensuring seamless continuity in safety issues.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in any aviation role with exposure to safety management and or compliance within aviation operations.
• Pilot, Dispatcher, or Ground Operations background is an advantage.
• Experience with IT systems for data management and analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and communicate with senior leadership.
• Methodical with strong analytical skills.
• Confident, assertive, and proactive in driving outcomes.
• Collaborative team player with a positive, professional attitude.
• Languages: Hebrew and English (fluent)
