The Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our core R&D team and take a leading role in designing and scaling our AI-enabled platform.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys ownership - someone who not only writes high-quality code, but also drives architecture, influences product direction, mentors teammates, and turns complex requirements into reliable production systems.

You will work at the intersection of edge computing, cloud infrastructure, and clinical data - building systems that operate continuously in real-world environments and directly impact patient care.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and develop core platform components across edge and cloud
• Lead development of edge-device software for acquisition, processing, and secure transmission of sensor data
• Design scalable backend services that transform raw data into clinical insights
• Own reliability, observability, and performance of production systems
• Collaborate with algorithms, product, and clinical teams to define system behavior
• Mentor engineers and help establish engineering best practices
• Drive the transition from R&D prototypes to robust, scalable commercial product
• Improve system performance, deployment workflows, and operational monitoring

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong Python proficiency and backend system design experience
• Experience building production backend services (FastAPI or similar frameworks, relational databases)
• Solid Linux experience (debugging, services, networking, performance)
• Experience designing distributed or edge-to-cloud systems
• Hands-on experience with Docker/containerized workloads
• Experience profiling and optimizing performance in real systems
• Ability to take ownership of complex features from design to deployment
• Experience with Cloud platform, particularly with AWS
• Front-end experience (Node.js, React, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, modern frameworks)

Nice to Have

• Experience with IoT / embedded / edge devices
• Data science skills - data aggregation, analysis, and statistics. 
• Familiarity with regulated environments (medical / healthcare / HIPAA)
