Senior R&D Software Engineer – ML/Big Data Core Architecture

We’re looking for a talented R&D Software Engineer to join Billabook, a fast-growing travel and hotel booking platform. This role is for engineers who lead architecture, own complex data and machine learning systems end-to-end, and thrive in an environment where massive datasets, complex optimization problems, rapid iteration, and innovation are the norm.

In this role, you’ll help design and develop the foundational Big Data and Machine Learning infrastructure for our booking system. You will be instrumental in shaping the data pipelines, feature stores, and real-time inference systems that power our cutting-edge AI-driven features—taking them from concept to production.

Requirements (Must-Have):

• 7+ years experience building and designing large-scale, distributed systems, with a significant focus on data-intensive applications and ML infrastructure.
• Proven ability to own architecture, make independent technical decisions, and deliver production-grade data and ML systems end to end.
• Deep expertise in scalable data architecture (e.g., event streaming, data lakes/warehouses, optimized feature storage) and Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kafka).
• Deep understanding of scalable backend development (microservices, async workflows, real-time data ingestion)
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native environments, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, observability & testing.
• Expert-level ability to design, integrate, and deploy production ML models, automation pipelines, and vector databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of tackling complex data and algorithmic challenges.

Bonus (Real Advantages):

• Previous experience in R&D, innovation teams, or 0→1 product development
• Extensive practical experience with ML/AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, vector DBs, embeddings, API orchestration).
• Experience in high-scale transactional systems (fintech, travel-tech, marketplaces, logistics, etc.), especially with high-velocity data.
