Back End Developer

At Equashield, we are pioneers in hazardous drug safety, transforming how healthcare providers handle and administer medication through advanced pharmacy automation and robotic systems.

We are looking for a Junior Backend Engineer to join our software team and help build reliable backend services that interface with real-time robotic systems and internal applications. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong fundamentals who wants to grow professionally while working on real, production-grade systems with meaningful impact.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using C# / .NET Core
• Develop business logic and data-processing components for automation workflows
• Design and manage data models and database access layers
• Integrate backend services with robotic controllers, sensors, and internal systems
• Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient data communication between system components
• Collaborate with hardware, QA, product, and frontend teams on end-to-end solutions
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and continuous improvement activities
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

What You Bring

• B.A./B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• 1–3 years of experience in backend software development
• Hands-on experience with C# and .NET / .NET Core
• Understanding of RESTful API design and client-server architecture
• Experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Familiarity with JSON-based data exchange
• Basic understanding of asynchronous programming concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn

Nice to Have

• Exposure to JavaScript or basic frontend technologies (HTML/CSS)
• Exposure to Desktop UI Frameworks like WPF, Avalonia etc.
• Experience integrating with hardware, embedded systems, or real-time components
• Familiarity with Git and basic CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with medical device software or regulated environments (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304)
