Automation QA Team Lead

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Automation QA Team Lead to build and lead our QA function. You will manage both manual and automation engineers, set quality standards, and drive quality across the product lifecycle.

This role is hands-on and strategic, with a focus on scaling test automation, improving processes, and enabling faster delivery with confidence.

What You’ll Do

Lead and mentor a team of manual and automation QA engineers

Define and execute test strategy, standards, and best practices

Design, implement, and maintain robust automation frameworks

Ensure high-quality releases through thorough testing and clear quality metrics

Drive quality improvement initiatives across teams

Work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to streamline CI/CD and testing pipelines

Manage bugs, priorities, risks, and test documentation in Jira (or similar)

Coach team members and foster a culture of quality and accountability

Requirements

6+ years in QA with strong automation experience

2+ years in a leadership or team mentorship role

Startup or SaaS environment experience

Hands-on with automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium or similar)

Comfortable programming in Python, JavaScript or TypeScript

Experience with web application testing across multiple browsers

Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, DevOps workflows and test automation integration

Experience with version control (Git) and Jira (or equivalent)

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions

Analytical mindset with a strong focus on quality and delivery

Nice to Have

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Experience with containers (Docker)

Software testing certifications (ISTQB or similar)
