Manufacturing R&D VP JB-4893

A leading manufacturing company is looking for a VP of Research and Development to lead the field in the company from the strategy stage to implementation, while creating business value, strengthening the brand, developing competitive products and managing operational excellence throughout the entire product life cycle.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Leading organizational innovation, developing evaluation and testing methodologies, identifying technological trends, advanced materials and innovative solutions, and implementing them in existing and future product lines.
• Integrated management of the research and development team in two arms: submission to tenders and proactive development in the face of new trends and ideas.
• Full responsibility for the product life cycle - from the idea and concept stage, through research, development, prototype, testing and validation, to transfer to production and commercial launch.
• Management and leadership of a multidisciplinary development team that includes content experts from the worlds of materials and ballistics, designers, engineers, project managers, studio and scientific team, while fostering professional excellence, efficiency and performance.
• Building work plans, development budget and annual and multi-year indicators, and managing them in practice while meeting schedule, budget, quality and risk management goals.
• Managing the field of documentation, investigation, information security and knowledge preservation.
• Managing suppliers and development, design, engineering and manufacturing contractors in Israel and abroad, including constant examination of technological alternatives and the supply chain.
• Leading transfer processes from development to production (NPI) while maintaining quality, compliance with standards and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of experience in leading teams and complex projects - mandatory.
• Relevant engineering academic degree - mandatory.
• Master's degree in industrial design management / technological management - an advantage.
• Proven experience in product development and innovation in an industrial or technological environment - mandatory.
• High interpersonal skills and the ability to build Strategy, work plans and budgets.
• Willingness to travel abroad for work as needed.
• Very high level of English.
