Senior Data Engineer (Defense)

Role Overview

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of advanced data infrastructure and enable critical data-driven capabilities across the organization.

This role focuses on building and optimizing data platforms that integrate diverse data sources — including structured and unstructured data — from operational systems, IoT devices, intelligence sources, and external systems, all within secure and high-availability environments.

You will play a key role in transforming raw data into reliable, accessible, and scalable data assets that support analytics, AI, operational systems, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain complex, secure data architectures
• Develop and manage scalable Data Pipelines for structured and unstructured data (text, video, images, signals, etc.)
• Integrate large volumes of data from multiple technological sources
• Build and maintain Data Lake / Lakehouse / Data Warehouse environments
• Enable Near Real-Time / Real-Time data processing capabilities
• Implement data quality, validation, and traceability (Data Lineage) processes
• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and High Availability
• Collaborate closely with AI, analytics, product, and intelligence teams
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, standards, and methodologies
• Work in alignment with data governance, security, and compliance requirements

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering within complex / enterprise environments
• Proven experience working with both structured and unstructured data
• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java
• Deep knowledge of SQL and Data Modeling
• Experience with modern data platforms and architectures (Data Lake / DWH / Lakehouse)

Databases & Storage:

• RDBMS: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL
• NoSQL: MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch
• Object Storage: S3 / GCS / HDFS

Nice to Have

• Experience with real-time streaming technologies
• Background working with large-scale distributed systems
• Familiarity with data security and regulated environments
• Experience supporting AI/ML data pipelines
