Quality Control Microbiologist

About the position

We are looking for a QC Microbiologist to join its Quality Control team. The role reports to the Microbiology Team Leader and involves hands-on microbiological testing in a regulated (GMP) environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform, handle, and interpret microbiological testing for environmental monitoring and water systems, including data monitoring and trending
• Conduct microbiological tests for IPC, final products, and raw materials (total count techniques and sterility testing in clean room environments)
• Prepare and maintain microorganisms databases
• Execute validation protocols and prepare validation reports
• Communicate with external laboratories performing microbiological tests for MediWound
• Train other employees in microbiological procedures
• Operate and maintain microbiology laboratory instruments and facilities
• Perform microbiological testing to support R&D activities
• Update microbiological SOPs, work instructions, and forms

Education, Experience & Qualifications

• Formal education (Technician / B.Sc.) in Microbiology or Biotechnology
• Advantage: At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a QC microbiology laboratory within the pharmaceutical industry
• Advantage: Experience with sterile products
• Responsible, intelligent, and positive mindset
• Hard-working, committed, and available for extended hours when required
• Independent, highly motivated, and detail-oriented
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
• Well-organized with strong attention to detail
• English: scientific reading required; spoken and written English – advantage
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word)
