We are seeking a talented Bot Detection Security Engineer with specialized expertise in anti-bot technologies, cybersecurity, and threat detection to join our product development team.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated bot detection and mitigation systems that protect our platform and clients from automated threats, and malicious bot activity.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced bot detection systems that identify and mitigate automated threats in real-time
• Implement and optimize multi-layered defense mechanisms including CAPTCHA systems, browser fingerprinting, behavioral analysis, and machine learning-based detection
• Analyze bot attack patterns, scraping activities to develop effective countermeasures
• Research emerging bot technologies, evasion techniques, and web scraping methods to stay ahead of evolving threats
• Develop and maintain rate limiting, IP reputation systems, and traffic analysis tools to protect against distributed attacks
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and product teams to integrate bot detection across all customer touchpoints
• Monitor threat intelligence feeds and security advisories to proactively defend against new attack vectors
• Tune detection algorithms to minimize false positives while maintaining high accuracy in identifying malicious traffic
• Document security implementations, incident response procedures, and maintain compliance with security standards

Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering or cybersecurity experience
• Proven hands-on experience with anti-bot technologies and bot detection platforms (e.g., Cloudflare Bot Management, DataDome, PerimeterX, Akamai Bot Manager, reCAPTCHA)
• Deep understanding of web architecture, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, TLS fingerprinting, browser behavior, and web application security
• Expertise in bot detection techniques including browser fingerprinting, device fingerprinting, behavioral analysis, and anomaly detection
• Understanding of common bot attack patterns, web scraping techniques, credential stuffing, account takeover
• Experience analyzing network traffic, logs, and security events to identify malicious patterns
• Experience building and maintaining robust, scalable systems designed to handle high traffic and heavy workloads.
• Containerization & Messaging: Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and messaging systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js is required, Rust - advantage.

Bonus Points if you have

• Experience with ML and DS techniques for anomaly identification
• Knowledge of headless browser detection, Puppeteer/Selenium identification, and automated browser profiling
• Familiarity with reverse engineering malicious scripts, analyzing JavaScript obfuscation, and threat actor methodologies
• Experience with SIEM systems, security monitoring tools, and threat intelligence platforms
• Understanding of distributed systems, load balancing, CDN architecture, and high-availability security infrastructure
• Experience with WAF configuration, API gateway security, and DDoS mitigation
• Background in penetration testing, ethical hacking, or red team operations
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
