Senior Backend Engineer

PayPlus is Hiring – Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

PayPlus is building a next-generation payments & POS platform operating at scale.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Node.js skills, deep infrastructure understanding, and experience building production-grade distributed systems.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership over core payment flows, settlement logic, and high-traffic services.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong experience with Node.js (production systems)
• Proven experience working with AWS (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience with Kafka (event-driven systems, consumers/producers, scaling)
• Experience with Elasticsearch / Elastic Stack
• Strong knowledge of relational databases:
• PostgreSQL
• MySQL
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance
• Ability to take full ownership of services from design to production

Nice to Have

• Experience with Go (Golang)
• Background in Fintech / Payments / POS systems
• Experience with high-scale, high-availability systems
• Event-Driven Architecture experience
• CI/CD pipelines, monitoring & alerting (Datadog, Prometheus, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement core backend services for payment processing and POS
• Build and maintain event-driven services using Kafka
• Work closely with DevOps, Product, and Frontend teams
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability
• Participate in architectural decisions and technical leadership
