Head of R&D

We are looking for a Head of R&D to take full ownership of the technology function at a growing AdTech startup operating large-scale, data-driven advertising systems. This is a hands-on leadership role combining deep technical execution with strategic responsibility. You will design scalable architectures, build core infrastructure, and lead the evolution of the company’s technology. Initially, you will manage a small team and gradually scale it as the company grows. Key Responsibilities Hands-On Development Actively code, debug, and design system architecture daily Take ownership of core services and critical technical decisions Architecture & Scalability Design and implement scalable, high-performance systems Build infrastructure capable of supporting large-scale, data-intensive workloads Cloud & DevOps Develop, maintain, and optimize cloud-based architectures Own DevOps processes, deployment pipelines, and system reliability Team Leadership Manage and mentor a developer initially, with responsibility to grow and scale the team Set engineering standards, best practices, and development processes Product & Technology Growth Continuously improve advertising and media technologies Collaborate closely with leadership to align technology with business and growth goals

Requirements
