Legal Counsel

We are searching for a visionary Legal Counsel to join the engine room of Elementor, the platform empowering over 21 million websites worldwide. This is a transformative role where you will be the foundational legal architect, driving innovation while managing the complex risk landscape of a high-growth, global SaaS leader. You will pioneer legal strategy across critical domains, from architecting scalable commercial frameworks and fortifying our global IP portfolio to shaping our data privacy posture and advancing employment law initiatives. Your work will directly empower product development, enable our go-to-market strategy, and ensure the rapid, smart expansion of a product that is defining the next generation of web design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commercial Law & Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate MSAs, SaaS subscriptions, DPAs, vendor, partnership, and employment contracts. Develop contract templates, playbooks, and standard operating procedures to enable rapid, compliant business growth.
• Product & Go-to-Market (GTM): Provide proactive, risk-based legal counsel to Product, R&D, and Marketing teams, ensuring fast and compliant go-to-market strategies for cutting-edge features.
• Corporate Governance & Equity: Lead the company’s corporate governance (Board materials, resolutions, corporate records) and manage equity and incentive plans (ESOPs, stock options), advising on regulatory, tax, and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Intellectual Property (IP): Fortify the company’s IP by leading brand protection, monitoring global IP rights, and proactively addressing piracy and trademark infringement. Experience with IP rights and open-source licensing is a strong advantage.
• Data Privacy: Lead the company’s privacy program, managing compliance with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other international regimes, including DPAs/SCCs, DPIAs, vendor risk assessments, and incident response.
• Workforce & Legal Operations: Partner with HR on complex employment law matters and policy implementation. Govern and standardize all legal documentation and contract lifecycle processes to fuel operational speed.
• Marketing & Consumer Protection: Provide legal counsel to Marketing & Growth teams on global campaigns (advertising, affiliates, promotions). Review marketing materials and advise on consumer protection and subscription/billing disclosures.
• Global Expansion: Support global expansion efforts and regulatory risk assessments in new markets.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 6 years as in-house counsel or at a top-tier tech-focused law firm, with a proven track record in commercial law, data privacy, company governance, and SaaS/tech legal matters.
• Technical mastery: Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. Deep knowledge of global privacy regimes (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), IP rights, open-source licensing, and ESOP/equity compensation structures.
• Business judgment: Ability to translate complex legal issues into actionable, business-first advice for product-led teams (B2B and B2C).
• Leadership & influence: Comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving change without formal authority.
• Communication & mindset: Proactive, collaborative, and service-oriented partner with professional-level English (written and spoken). Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

Nice to have:

• In-house experience at a global SaaS company.
• Experience implementing CLM tools and building contracting playbooks.
• Exposure to marketing/advertising, consumer protection, and platform/ecosystem partner agreements.
• Deep expertise in company governance, ESOPs, and open source licensing.
