Data Science Team Lead

About the Role:

Kayhut's AI & Data Science group is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced Data Science Team Leader who is passionate about solving data-centric challenges using Machine Learning (ML), Large Language Models (LLMs), and statistical methods.

As a Team Leader, you will guide and mentor a team of talented data scientists working with diverse and complex data sources spanning graphs, structured tabular data, text, and images. You will be responsible for driving execution, ensuring delivery of impactful, production-ready solutions, and fostering a practical, hands-on data science culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.

• Define the team’s technical vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business and product goals.

• Oversee the development, analysis, and deployment of production-grade ML models across various domains, including graphs, structured data, text, and images.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate ML models into real-world products and services.

• Work closely with customers and product managers to ensure ML solutions deliver measurable business impact.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and industry advancements in AI and ML, and drive the adoption of practical, cutting-edge techniques.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field.

• 4+ years of hands-on industry experience in Data Science and ML, including developing and deploying production-grade algorithms.

• 2+ years of experience leading or managing data science teams.

• Excellent Python programming skills, including proficiency in ML and data science libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, and pandas.

• Practical experience in developing and deploying LLM applications.

• Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, Spark, and Airflow.

• Strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in the Cybersecurity industry.

• Experience with large graphs.

• Hands-on experience in fine-tuning Large Language Models or building end-to-end RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) agents.
