We are seeking a Head of Legal & Compliance to lead our global legal function in a fast-growing startup.
This pivotal role involves overseeing all legal and compliance matters, including commercial agreements, regulatory obligations, privacy, employment, marketing compliance, payments, and risk management. You will work closely with senior leadership to support growth while ensuring full compliance with U.S. and international laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary legal advisor to the executive team.
- Build and scale the Legal & Compliance function, processes, and frameworks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (vendors, marketing, data, payments, licensing).
- Manage corporate governance, risk, payments, and operational compliance.
- Oversee global privacy and data protection compliance.
- Develop internal policies and conduct legal training for teams.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and optimize legal spend.
Requirements:
- LL.B. or equivalent legal degree; active bar membership.
- 5+ years of legal experience in a global, fast-growing company (preferably B2C).
- Expertise in U.S. legal frameworks, promotional law, consumer protection, contracts, and online commerce.
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
