Camera Test & HW Practical Engineer

Job Description

As a Camera test & HW Practical Engineer you will be responsible for bringing up, operating test hardware for onsemi’s advanced Image Sensors. You will engage in optical and electrical prototypes and setups bring up, data collection, scripting, and test automation. You will rely on know-how in electronics, optics, and basic scripting to make a significant impact on the testing and operation of the company’s new products and technologies.

In this multidisciplinary role you will collaborate with design, system, and application engineers, and will gain deep and broad understanding of image sensors & other optical sensors. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team, bring up new HW and test setups to make a real and long-lasting impact on the company and its product lines.

Responsibilities

• Bringing up and debugging complex test setups including HW, SW and optics.
• HW (including PCBAs) and lab instruments management, tracking and basic maintenance.
• Keeping labs and equipment in good order and operating state.
• Run tests to evaluate image quality and pixel performance in the wafer, packaged device, and system level.
• Optimizing system performance (voltage levels, settings, timing diagrams).
• Collecting large-scale test data in the wafer, packaged device, and system level.
• Python scripting for image processing, automation, and data collection.
• Bringing up, calibrating, and maintaining complex electro-optical characterization systems, lab setups and characterization code repositories.
  
  

Qualifications

• Practical Engineer plus 5 years of working experience.
• Familiarity with Scope / Logic Analyzer / DMM.
• Soldering capability 0402 (must) / 0201 (a big plus) sizes for prototypes.
• Familiarity with Lidars, cameras, image sensors, or camera characterization - an advantage.
• Familiarity with electro-optics systems, pixel characterization, image quality - an advantage.
• Scripting (Python preferred), and test equipment automation capabilities - an advantage.
• Strong self-management skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform and deliver on schedule.
