Java Software Engineer

A highly successful and profitable Israeli Deep-Tech startup specializing in advanced software and hardware solutions for autonomous aerial platforms. The company develops intelligent technology that upgrades off-the-shelf drones with sophisticated capabilities for defense, security, and commercial applications.

Located in the Central District (ideally situated near the train station), the company operates a hybrid work model (three days per week from the office).

Role Overview:

• Developing versatile Backend services primarily in Java and Python for mission-critical command and control (C2) systems.
• Building the software infrastructure for Android-based interfaces and edge-device communications.
• Integrating advanced AI and Computer Vision (CV) models onto specialized hardware components (on-board chips) for real-time processing.
• Solving complex engineering challenges across On-Premise and Cloud environments.
• Working within a lean, high-caliber R&D team on an impactful product that serves defense and security agencies worldwide.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in Backend development using Java, Scala, or Kotlin – Mandatory.
• Significant experience developing within Linux environments – Mandatory.
• Proven experience with SaaS or Cloud-based architectures – Mandatory.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Python – Mandatory.
• Background in hardware-software integration or embedded-oriented backend development – A significant advantage.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
