AI Engineer

A publicly traded Israeli Defense-Tech company specializing in AI and Computer Vision solutions. The company develops advanced autonomous systems for combat vehicles and unmanned aerial platforms, providing real-time situational awareness, identification, and tracking capabilities.

Founded by experienced entrepreneurs with a proven track record of scaling companies to high-value public offerings, the firm maintains a lean, elite engineering team and holds significant long-term contracts with major global defense organizations.

Located in Tel Aviv (excellent access to both the train and light rail), the company operates a hybrid work model (two days per week from home).

Role Overview:

• Joining a core engineering team to develop scalable Backend components and software infrastructure.
• Building and maintaining real-time Computer Vision pipelines in production environments.
• Deploying and optimizing AI models across diverse hardware platforms, including Edge devices and Cloud infrastructures.
• Converting State-of-the-Art (SOTA) research into operational products in collaboration with top-tier Computer Vision and AI researchers.
• Leading runtime optimizations for AI models to ensure high performance in mission-critical scenarios.
• Working extensively in a Linux environment with a focus on Python.

Requirements:

• 5 years of professional experience in Backend, Software, or Machine Learning Engineering – Mandatory.
• 3 years of hands-on development experience in Python – Mandatory.
• Significant experience developing within Linux environments – Mandatory.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or graduate of an elite military technological unit – Mandatory.
• Proven ability to build and deploy complex software architectures in production.
• Experience with AI/CV pipelines or hardware-software integration – A significant advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a high-impact, mission-driven environment.
