Senior DevOps Engineer – WordPress Platform

Location: Har Tuv – Bet Shemesh | Full-time / In-office

Experience: 7+ years (Infrastructure + WordPress at scale)

We operate 12+ production WordPress websites and are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer – WordPress Platform to own the infrastructure, performance, security, and reliability of our WordPress ecosystem.

This is a platform ownership role. You will be responsible for uptime, scalability, monitoring, security, and performance, while also providing deep hands-on WordPress engineering expertise and technical leadership.

Our infrastructure is hosted primarily on DigitalOcean, and you will own and evolve this environment as the platform grows.

• Own and manage production infrastructure for multiple WordPress sites
• Design, optimize, and scale servers on DigitalOcean
• Ensure uptime, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery
• Optimize performance (Core Web Vitals, TTFB, caching, CDN)
• Implement server and WordPress security best practices
• Manage DNS, SSL, and email DNS (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
• Respond to outages, incidents, and performance issues
• Lead WordPress architecture, custom themes, and plugins
• Evaluate and replace third-party plugins when needed
• Maintain compatibility during WordPress and PHP upgrades
• Act as technical owner and mentor for the WordPress team

Infrastructure & DevOps

• Strong Linux server administration (SSH, hardening, security)
• Hands-on production experience with DigitalOcean
• Monitoring, backups, recovery, and incident response
• Performance optimization and caching
• Cloudflare experience

WordPress & Development

• Expert-level WordPress (core, hooks, plugins, themes)
• Strong PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript
• Experience running WordPress at scale
• API integrations and third-party services

Leadership

• Ownership mindset for production systems

• Experience mentoring developers

• Sites are fast, secure, and stable
