Head of Research And Development

We are seeking behalf of our client an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the development of a mission-critical Fintech SaaS platform.

This role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on expertise, and proven experience embedding AI capabilities into engineering workflows within regulated, production-grade environments.

The ideal candidate understands how to use AI not only to accelerate coding, but to improve reliability, consistency, and long-term maintainability of complex financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow software engineering teams developing a Fintech SaaS platform
• Own architecture, technical decision-making, and engineering standards for financial systems
• Integrate AI tools into the full development lifecycle (design, coding, code review, testing, documentation, maintenance)
• Establish AI-assisted workflows that support accuracy, auditability, and regulatory requirements
• Ensure system reliability, data integrity, security, and controlled management of technical debt
• Collaborate closely with Product, Compliance, Security, and DevOps teams
• Drive predictable delivery and scalable growth of a backend-heavy, distributed system

Requirements

• Proven experience managing software engineering teams in SaaS or Fintech environments
• Strong hands-on background in backend or platform engineering
• Practical experience implementing AI-assisted development tools in real production systems
• Experience leading teams in AI-first or AI-native engineering organizations
• Experience working with distributed systems, integrations, and data-intensive platforms
• Ability to define engineering standards, processes, and governance

Nice to Have

• Background in building or scaling Fintech platforms handling sensitive financial data
• Experience with specification-driven or design-first development approaches
• Exposure to regulated environments (payments, banking, compliance, security)
