About the position

As a Junior Security Engineer, you will support the implementation and day to day operation of IT and security solutions across endpoint security, SaaS security, network security, and threat detection and response. The role combines hands-on security operations with broader IT support responsibilities, ensuring systems are secure, stable, and well maintained.

You will assist with security monitoring, alert triage, incident handling, vulnerability remediation, and continuous improvement of detection capabilities, while also supporting core IT operations such as endpoint management, user administration, SaaS configuration, and infrastructure troubleshooting.

Working closely with senior engineers, you will gain practical experience across both security and IT operations in a fast paced consultancy environment, building strong technical foundations in modern security practices.

Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation and maintenance of security solutions across endpoint protection, network security, SaaS platforms, and identity and access management within client IT environments.
• Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining commercial and open source security tools, ensuring they are properly integrated and operational.
• Participate in daily security operations activities, including monitoring, alert triage, incident handling, vulnerability remediation, and basic detection tuning.
• Support endpoint management, user administration, SaaS configuration, and general IT troubleshooting to ensure secure and stable operations.
• Assist in identifying security gaps and implementing remediation actions under guidance from senior engineers.
• Contribute to documentation, reporting, and communication of technical findings to internal teams and customers.
• Automate routine security and IT tasks where possible to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Continuously develop technical skills and stay informed about emerging threats, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, SOC, infrastructure, or technical support roles
• Hands on exposure to endpoint, SaaS, or network security technologies
• Experience supporting security monitoring, alert triage, incident handling, or vulnerability management activities
• Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, firewalls, MDM, or similar security and IT tooling
• Basic knowledge of Windows and macOS administration, user management, and endpoint troubleshooting
• Understanding of core networking concepts such as DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, and firewalls
• Working knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a willingness to learn and grow in a hands on security and IT operations role
• Entry level security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or equivalent are a plus
