Senior Software Engineer Team Lead

Software Group Manager | Haifa, Israel

A leading technology company in the north is looking for a Software Group Manager to join its R&D leadership team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting directly to the VP R&D, managing an existing team of ~6 engineers with planned growth.

About the Role

• Lead and scale a globally distributed software team
• Own system architecture and technical direction for a complex real-world physical product (not Web/App)
• Work closely with Algorithms, ML, Computer Vision, Hardware and Firmware teams
• Make architectural decisions while balancing performance, CPU/GPU constraints and cost
• Drive design reviews, development processes, roadmaps, timelines and budget
• Recruit, mentor and retain top engineering talent across multiple sites

Key Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience in industry, including:
• 5+ years with modern C++
• Strong experience with at least two additional languages (e.g. C, Java, C#, Python)
• Proven system architecture and design experience
• Multi-threaded development on Linux systems
• 3+ years of people management experience:
• Managing teams of 5+ engineers
• Leading design reviews and engineering best practices
• Building work plans, timelines and owning development budgets
• Hands-on experience with Jira (or equivalent), Git and CI/CD
• 3+ years of domain experience in:
• Small to mid-size startup environments
• Development of physical products (automotive, robotics, drones, radar, cameras, etc.)
• Computer Vision / ML pipelines (model training is not required)
• Working under hardware constraints and performance trade-offs
