Job description

A well‑funded Israeli deep‑tech company in the autonomous systems domain is looking for a Network Software Team Lead to own and evolve the connectivity layer behind mission‑critical unmanned deployments. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who combines deep networking software expertise with the ability to lead, mentor and grow a strong engineering team. You will lead by example, building high‑impact networking capabilities while driving quality, ownership and fast, pragmatic execution.

What you’ll do

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team (Frontend, Backend, DevOps, QA) while staying deeply hands‑on in architecture and development.
• Design and develop core networking software capabilities that power reliable, real‑world connectivity for unmanned systems.
• Take full ownership of features from definition through delivery, ensuring high quality from design to production.
• Make key technical decisions around network stacks, protocols, performance, scalability and reliability.
• Drive engineering excellence: code reviews, testing practices, observability and clean, well‑defined interfaces.
• Collaborate with other engineering and product teams to deliver cohesive, end‑to‑end solutions. Take part in recruiting and building out the team as the product and company scale.

Job requirements

What we’re looking for:

• 7+ years of hands on experience designing and debugging networking software (protocols, performance, reliability)
• 5+ years of backend development, preferably in Python, within networking focused products or systems
• 3+ years of experience leading a software team, with responsibility for execution, mentorship and day‑to‑day delivery.
• Proven experience building production‑grade software in a Linux environment, with strong troubleshooting skills.
• Solid understanding of Linux networking fundamentals and how to build reliable systems around them.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a clear ownership mindset.
• Nice to have Experience with OpenVPN, WireGuard. Experience with VRFs, namespaces, eBPF, TC. Familiarity with mobile networks and cellular modems.
• Experience with SD‑WAN or Multi‑WAN architectures.
