Job Description

“Reconstructing the dynamics and magnitude of the African monsoon system in space and time.”

The project involves the application of a set of modern multi-proxy analytical techniques applied to exceptionally well-preserved lake archives (both outcrops or core sequences), with the aim to reconstruct Early Pleistocene-Pliocene climate and environmental variability. The project will take place at the Interdisciplinary Lab for Paleoclimate and Petrophysics, Department of Marine Geosciences, University of Haifa.

Important details: Postdoctoral candidates must be citizens of the United States or Canada or have a documented status that allows them to remain permanently in the US. Candidates must hold a PhD degree from a leading American or Canadian university, or if still studying for a PhD, must submit their PhD thesis before October 1, 2026. They should be planning to return to the United States or Canada to compete for an academic position. Postdoctoral scholars receive a scholarship of $63,000 per year for up to two years on the condition that the scholar be present and conducting research at the Israeli university for at least six months per year.is
