About the Role

A large organization operating in a governmental / defense environment is seeking a Development & Application Support Engineer to join a team responsible for mission-critical core systems.

The role combines software development, Oracle database work, and hands-on production support, including troubleshooting live systems and providing professional support to end users — all while adhering to strict procedures, regulations, and security standards.

Responsibilities:

• Development and maintenance of Java-based systems
• Development, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle PL/SQL code
• (Stored Procedures, Triggers, Views)
• Ongoing application-level support for end users, including investigation and resolution of production issues
• Daily work in Linux / UNIX environments
• Participation in system design, implementation, and upgrade processes
• Collaboration with development, infrastructure, and IT teams in accordance with organizational procedures
• Work in Production environments and on critical operational systems

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Java development
• Hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL
• Experience working in Linux / UNIX environments
• Experience providing application support to end users
• Ability to work independently while strictly following defined processes and procedures
• High level of personal responsibility, accuracy, organization, and strong teamwork skills
