Role Overview

A leading technology organization operating in a defense environment is seeking

A Lead AI & Data Science Engineer for a diverse, high-impact role. The position involves end-to-end ownership of AI and Data Science solutions — from proof of concept (PoC) through production deployment.

The role combines advanced work in Computer Vision, NLP, and Large Language Models (LLMs), analysis of aerial and satellite imagery, development of intelligent AI agents, and architectural decision-making for complex AI-driven systems. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment with significant technological challenges and real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead AI and Data Science initiatives end-to-end, from ideation and PoC to production deployment

• Design, select, and implement advanced AI/ML architectures, considering scalability, performance, and reliability.

• Proven Computer Vision Strong hands-on experience in image and video processing: Segmentation, Classification, Object Detection Solid background in Deep Learning and neural networks

• Develop, train, validate, and fine-tune models in Computer Vision and NLP domains

• Analyze aerial and satellite imagery, including segmentation, object detection, and extraction of operational insights

• Train, fine-tune, and calibrate Large Language Models (LLMs), with a deep understanding of error control, bias mitigation, evaluation, and output quality

• Design and implement intelligent AI agents for task execution, orchestration, and tool integration

• Prepare models for production deployment, including testing, monitoring, and integration support

• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and software teams

• Contribute to architectural decisions and influence the AI technology roadmap

Requirements

• Proven experience leading and developing AI / Data Science solutions

• Hands-on experience with Computer Vision models (object detection, segmentation, classification)

• Practical experience with NLP and LLMs, including fine-tuning, prompting, and evaluation

• Strong understanding of AI/ML architectures and production-readiness considerations

• Proficiency in Python and leading ML/DL frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)

• Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership

• Strong analytical mindset, curiosity, and problem-solving skills

• Experience with satellite imagery or remote sensing data

• Experience building AI agents and RAG-based systems

• Background in defense, security, or government environments

• Experience with model monitoring, validation, and performance evaluation in production

• Research or applied research background
