Data Scientist

CyberWell is seeking a Data Scientist with a passion for AI to join our small but dedicated team. This position is full-time and is available for immediate start. We work in a hybrid format and are in our Tel Aviv office 3 days a week.

About Us

CyberWell is a start-up nonprofit on a mission to address online antisemitism and hate in the digital era. With data, we drive the enforcement and improvement of hate speech policies across online service platforms through identifying and tracking antisemitic content in multiple languages, globally, and creating concrete recommendations tailored to each platform.

About the Role

The Data Scientist will play a pivotal role in leveraging advanced analytics and AI to address CyberWell’s mission of combating online hate. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, AI-based solutions, and drive innovation across our products and services. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience and possess a strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, train, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models to solve real-world challenges related to online hate and antisemitism.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-based solutions and best practices to enhance product capabilities and system performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and research teams to integrate AI solutions within CyberWell’s platforms and workflows.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain machine learning models in production environment, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and data preprocessing to support robust model and development of AI agents.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and big data, recommending adoption of relevant technologies and methodologies.
• Document methodologies, experiments, and outcomes to ensure knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
• Contribute to the establishment of data and model governance, including security, compliance, and ethical AI practices.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving model-related issues, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• BSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• MSc in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience (4+ years preferred) at developing, training, deploying, and maintaining machine learning and AI solutions in production environments.
• End-to-End AI Workflows: Skilled in building comprehensive AI workflows using modern tools for automated testing, reflection, and LLM evaluation frameworks.
• LLM Evaluation & Optimization: Experienced with secure AI deployment, LLM as judge concept, and advanced prompt design for robust model performance.
• Prompt Engineering: Well-versed in prompt engineering, including orchestration across platforms, MCP usage, leveraging APIs, and handling semi-structured data.
• AI System Integration: Proficient at integrating AI with multiple data sources, employing reranking, text chunking, semantic metrics, and embedding models.
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG): Expert in designing RAG systems, optimizing transformer architectures, and managing tokenization and pretraining workflows.
• Multi-Modality: Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deploy AI systems capable of processing and integrating data from multiple modalities, such as text, images, audio, or video, to enhance model performance and address complex real-world tasks.
• Experience working with large, complex datasets and data pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile, and mission-driven environment.
