System Validation Engineer

About BATM Cyber Division:

BATM, a global technology group publicly traded in London and Tel Aviv (BVC), operates through three divisions: Networking, Cyber, and Diagnostics. The Cyber Division of BATM is seeking a System Validation Engineer. It develops advanced encryption technologies, including Layer 2 data-in-transit protection powered by Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), delivering next-generation network security products and securing critical infrastructure with high-performance, hardware-based encryption solutions.

About the role:

We are looking for a System Validation Engineer to lead end-to-end validation of our security product, including the hardware device and the Elements Management System (EMS). This role requires a system-level view across hardware, FPGA data paths, embedded software, cryptographic functions, and the microservices-based EMS. You will ensure functionality, reliability, performance, and security of the system, working in a multidisciplinary environment with advanced networking, high-performance systems, and post-quantum cybersecurity technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Own and execute system-level validation for the full product: device + firmware/embedded + FPGA + EMS.
• Define, write, and maintain validation plans, test procedures, and test reports for releases and customer deployments.
• Design and run manual tests (with potential to build automation in the future).
• Validate device behavior across hardware bring-up and interfaces (networking, host connectivity, management ports, etc.).
• Validate FPGA functionality and data-path behavior (throughput, latency, stability).
• Validate embedded/firmware behavior (boot flows, configuration, upgrades, logging, fault handling).
• Validate cryptographic workflows at a validation level (key handling, security policies, authentication, encryption modes).
• Validate EMS workflows (microservices, APIs, monitoring, alarms, provisioning, lifecycle operations).
• Build end-to-end scenarios reflecting real customer environments: provisioning -> configuration -> steady-state operation -> fault conditions -> recovery.
• Perform integration testing across components and versions (device FW/FPGA/EMS compatibility matrices).
• Validate performance and scalability: throughput, latency, CPU/memory utilization, long-duration stability, stress tests.
• Investigate failures and regressions: collect logs, reproduce issues, perform root-cause analysis, and work closely with R&D to drive resolution.
• Improve validation infrastructure: lab setups, test rigs, traffic generators, monitoring dashboards, test data management.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. (or higher) in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Computer Science.
• Hands-on experience in system validation / integration / QA for complex systems (device + software preferred).
• Solid technical ability to work with Linux environments (CLI, networking basics, services, logs).
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Strong system-level thinking and ability to understand complex, multi-disciplinary products.

Preferred Qualifications (Strong Advantages):

• Background in networking / data communications: routing/switching concepts, interfaces, packet flows, troubleshooting.
• Experience with embedded systems (embedded Linux, bootloaders, device bring-up concepts, firmware upgrades).
• Familiarity with FPGA-based systems (data-path concepts, performance validation, debugging flows with HW/SW teams).
• Knowledge of cryptography/security concepts (key management flows, secure boot concepts, encryption/authentication at a system level).
• Python knowledge (for tooling, scripts, and future automation).
• Experience with distributed systems / microservices, REST APIs, containers, CI/CD testing concepts.
• Familiarity with multi-processor SoCs and heterogeneous compute systems.
