Disrupt.Design Lab (D.DLab) | Technion IIT (Faculty of Architecture & Town Planning) is opening a postdoctoral position (start date May 2026, flexible) for passionate researchers who want to position architecture at the forefront of climate innovation. We are a design-led technological research group working at the intersection of material systems, computational design, and advanced fabrication, exploring new forms of authorship among humans, machines, and living systems.
Role Description
The Postdoctoral Researcher will lead and contribute to cutting-edge research projects that address current environmental and spatial challenges. The successful candidate will join D.DLab’s collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment, contributing to the lab’s long-term strategic development and to the visibility of its work across academic and professional platforms. This includes active engagement in publications, exhibitions, and international dissemination channels, supporting the lab’s mission to advance impactful design research. We're looking for outstanding candidates who are committed to academic excellence, sustained research impact, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Within this framework, the researcher will help shape emerging research directions, develop and implement experimental, computational, and materials methodologies, and produce high-quality scholarly outputs in close partnership with D.DLab researchers and external collaborators. The work will contribute to D.DLab’s ongoing and future projects exploring novel material systems, computational design-to-fabrication workflows, and sustainable construction paradigms.
