Planner

Egged, Israel’s leading public transportation company, is looking for a Supply Planner / Distribution Planning Specialist to join our Central Logistics Center (Merlog) team.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, approving, and optimizing spare parts procurement based on demand forecasts from garages and production facilities, while maintaining maximum availability with minimum inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve spare parts purchase requests according to system recommendations and urgent customer needs
• Monitor and control purchase orders and status changes
• Define and manage optimal inventory policies per item/category
• Plan and schedule inventory for new operational activities
• Maintain and update inventory planning profiles
• Handle problematic inventory (excess, obsolete, slow-moving)
• Track and control shipments (OTIF)
• Improve internal workflows and processes
• Analyze KPIs (inventory turnover, availability, stock value, etc.)
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (cross-training)

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering & Management or Economics – required (Master’s degree is a plus)
• 3+ years of experience as a Supply Planner / Inventory Planner (experience in automotive importers – a strong advantage)
• Excellent knowledge of SAP (Inventory, Procurement, Warehouse modules)
• Experience with BI systems
• Strong Excel skills
• Ability to characterize and implement business processes in information systems
