NPI & Manufacturing Engineer

The company develops reliable and accurate MIL-standard electro-optical test equipment, serving industries globally. With a significant presence in the USA, Israel, Europe, and the Far East, CI Systems operates a manufacturing facility in the USA and an R&D center in Israel.

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced NPI & Manufacturing Engineer to lead the industrialization, documentation, and implementation of cable, harness, and wiring systems for complex, multidisciplinary products. This role involves close collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers, ensuring a smooth transfer from development to serial production while meeting high standards of quality, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead NPI activities from prototype through pilot builds and ramp-up to serial production
• Design, review, and maintain manufacturing documentation:
• Harness drawings, cable assemblies, wiring diagrams, BOMs
• Define and implement assembly, soldering, inspection, and marking processes in accordance with industry standards (e.g. IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-610)
• Develop manufacturing and electrical test methods (continuity, insulation, polarity, resistance)
• Support ongoing manufacturing engineering activities, including ECOs, process optimization, and cost reduction
• Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers, including quality reviews and on-site support
• Analyze field failures and production issues and drive practical engineering solutions to improve reliability

Requirements

• B.Sc. / Practical Engineer in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in cable and harness design or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cable assemblies, harness layouts, and manufacturing documentation.
• Familiarity with IPC-620, MIL-DTL, NASA-STD-8739, or aerospace/defense standards.
• Experience with crimping, soldering, potting, marking, shielding, and electrical testing processes.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and translate design requirements into production-ready documentation.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary assemblies
