QA Manager

Summary

The File Systems Quality Engineering team within Apple’s Core OS organization is looking for a results-oriented leader with strong technical and interpersonal skills to lead a team of Quality Engineers focused on File Systems validation. The person in this role will work closely with Engineering, other QA teams, and cross-functional managers to deliver the highest quality experience across all Apple products.

As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique opportunity to help validate our APFS file system, network file systems, and associated components. You will be responsible for ensuring that features and performance are maintained at the highest standards.

Description

You will be managing a team of Quality Dev Engineers focusing on white box testing for all Apple platforms. You will drive the testing, data gathering, and project reporting for your team. You will coordinate testing with other teams, review test plans and related documentation, monitor progress, and provide sign-offs on all presubmission and release milestones. You will process data from multiple sources, draw meaningful conclusions, and present valuable recommendations to leadership. You will also be expected to contribute as an individual contributor!

Responsibilities Include

Managing a small team of Development Engineers in Test

Developing, modifying, and automating complete test strategies, plans, and programs

Coordinating testing across multiple sites

Driving quality initiatives for your areas of responsibility

Actively participating in testing the work you’re doing

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Software Quality Engineering Manager.
• Passion to recruit, manage and develop high-performance engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of SQA methodologies, processes, tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processes.
• Ability to empower teams to achieve exciting yet attainable goals.
• Comfortable working in a constantly evolving and dynamic environment and driving top issues to resolution.
  
  

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer in Test or Software Quality Engineer.
• Proficiency with iOS, macOS or other operating systems such as Unix/Linux.
• Proficiency in Python or other equivalent scripting/programming language.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
