You will have the chance to create algorithms and architectures of wireless communication systems, as well as collaborate with extraordinary HW, SW designers and architects to implement, verify, validate and bring up SoC products to production quality, providing them to millions of Apple customers!
Description
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:nOptimization of the BT flows to improve Power consumption.nIntegration and Bring up of power use-cases. nBringing up, testing, characterizing and optimizing real silicon in the lab.nAnalyzing and improving the efficiency of wireless MAC layer protocols, focusing on throughput, latency and overall network performance.nImplementing MAC system models and investigating algorithms for performance enhancements, design and validate them to allow performance sign-off and enable system developments. Defining the control procedures of the MAC layer hardware modules to achieve robust and optimal performance throughput and latencynCollaborating with PHY system team and cross-functional teams to integrate MAC layer algorithms into system architecture.nCollaborating with firmware designers to realize these methods with high efficiency software implementation and possibly with using hardware acceleration.nDocumenting design processes and performance outcomes, providing detailed reports and insights for continuous improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
B.Sc / M.Sc in Electrical / Computer Engineering or related fieldsn5+ years of relevant experiencenWorking knowledge of wireless systems and hands-on experience with lab testing and characterizationnExperience in Power flows employed in communication SOCs nExperience with Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, simulation and test-bench infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of BT MAC layer protocolnWorking knowledge, involving hands-on experience of BT systemsnExperience in crafting signal processing and wireless communications systemsnKnowledge in existing wireless communication protocols, such as Bluetooth/BLEnExperience on bring up of real silicon in lab and being able to efficiently use lab equipment (such as spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meter, etc.)nExperience in modem architecture, microprocessor architecture, hardware and software controlnExperience of SoC design and validation to support wireless communication systemnExperience on low-power algorithm design for power critical applicationnExperience with multi-radio coexistence managementnExperience and knowledge on High-Level Synthesis (HLS), silicon prototyping, emulation systems and virtual platformsnExperience with network simulator such as OPNET, NS2 or NS3 is a plus
