About QSplit

QSplit is an early-stage fintech company helping eCommerce merchants recover failed checkout transactions caused by insufficient credit limits, and significantly increase conversion rates.

We work with leading eCommerce sites in the high-ticket products space, focusing on solving a real problem that impacts both merchant revenue and customer freedom of choice.

We’re looking for a Founding Engineer to join as one of our first technical hires and become a true partner in building QSplit’s product, infrastructure, and engineering foundation.

This is a hands-on role with high ownership, working closely with a strong, experienced development team and directly with the founder, with real influence over product and technical direction.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and ship core product features end to end
• Work on complex checkout and purchase flows
• Work directly with payment gateways, APIs, webhooks, and payment flows
• Make architectural decisions across frontend, backend, and integrations
• Build stable, scalable systems used in real customer environments
• Balance fast iteration with reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability
• Help define engineering best practices, tooling, and culture alongside a strong development team

Requirements

• Strong full-stack engineer with a system-level mindset
• 5+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent depth)
• Experience building systems with real-world complexity and edge cases
• Solid understanding of user experience and client-side flows
• Strong fundamentals in system design, APIs, and data modeling
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and making independent decisions
• Strong sense of ownership — you care about outcomes, not just code

• Backend: Node.js, JavaScript
• Frontend: React
• eCommerce Platforms: WooCommerce, Magento, and custom-built commerce sites
• Cloud / Infra: GCP
• Data: PostgreSQL, Redis
• Integrations: Payment Gateways, External APIs, Webhooks

Bonus (Not Required)

• Experience in fintech, payments, or eCommerce
• Experience working directly with payment gateways and providers
• Early-stage startup or founding experience
• Comfort working across technical and business challenges
