The Visual and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at Ariel University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an active research program investigating the neural and behavioral mechanisms of spatial navigation, neuroplasticity, and multisensory processing, with a particular emphasis on sensory deprivation and blindness.

The postdoctoral researcher will play a central role in the design and execution of experiments, analysis of behavioral and neuroimaging data, and preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. The position supports both collaborative projects within the lab and the development of independent research directions aligned with the lab’s scientific goals.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct behavioral and neuroimaging experiments related to navigation, neuroplasticity, and multisensory processing
• Analyze behavioral and neuroimaging data using appropriate statistical and computational methods
• Develop and maintain analysis pipelines and research code for data processing and visualization
• Lead manuscript preparation and submission to peer-reviewed journals
• Contribute to the development of new research projects and grant proposals
• Present research findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences
• (Optional) Supervise and mentor graduate or undergraduate students

Qualifications

Required

• PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated research productivity (peer-reviewed publications)
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Programming experience for data analysis and research workflows (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Preferred

• Experience with MRI data (structural and/or functional)
• Experience with behavioral experiment design and implementation
• Experience with advanced statistical modeling or multivariate analyses
• Interest in spatial navigation, neuroplasticity, or multisensory processing
