Founding Engineer (AI-First) / Full-Stack Lead

We at InsureTax are building the "Lemonade" of the tax world. We develop a revolutionary insurance product for small businesses in the U.S., providing protection against IRS audits, backed by Lloyd’s of London. We are a fast-growing, pre-Round A startup focused on protecting business cash flow and reducing audit disruption.

The Role & Your Impact

We are searching for our first technical hire—a Founding Engineer—to lead, build, and shape the product from the ground up. We need an xEngineer of the post-AI era who deeply understands the power of AI in streamlining software and business processes. This is a full-time hybrid role (New York, NY) where you will:

• Build and Lead: Serve as the technical authority in the company, working directly alongside the CEO.
• AI-First Development: Develop and maintain advanced AI-based underwriting engines that enable real-time risk assessment and quotes.
• Migration and Scale: Lead the transition of the existing codebase to a modern, scalable production environment that will support our rapid growth.
• Technical Management: Work in synergy with our existing development team in Ukraine, ensuring the highest standards of performance and code quality.

Core Qualifications

• Proven ability to build and maintain the entire technology stack (Full-stack) independently.
• Proficiency in full-stack development, with expertise in languages and tools such as JavaScript, React, Python, Django, or similar frameworks.
• Mastery of modern AI tools and processes (including AI agents and using "Vibe coding" to accelerate development).
• Experience with AI and machine learning integration, including model development, training, and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based services, APIs, and scalable architecture design.
• Previous experience in fintech, insurance tech, or startups is a strong advantage.
