Role Overview 

We are looking for a Lead Software Architect to take full ownership of our platform’s software architecture. You’ll design and build scalable, high-performance, cloud-native systems from the ground up, enabling gaming app, real-time IoT data, computer vision workflows, big data analytics, and machine learning pipelines. 

This is a chance to shape the technical foundation of a cutting-edge product, work closely with a passionate R&D team, and bring innovative, basketball-focused experiences to players and fans alike. 

What You’ll Do 

• Design and own the end-to-end architecture of SwishBasket’s platform, infrastructure, and products. 
• Build scalable cloud infrastructure optimized for performance, cost, and rapid growth. 
• Architect big data ingestion, processing, and analytics pipelines. 
• Lead the architecture of B2C, gaming-oriented applications for players and fans. 
• Ensure data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, data governance). 
• Define and enforce architecture standards and best practices across R&D. 
• Drive technical decisions on cloud services, infrastructure patterns, and cost trade-offs. 
• Continuously evolve the architecture to support future product innovation. 

What We’re Looking for Experience & Leadership 

• 15+ years experience in professional software engineering. 
• 8+ years designing large-scale, distributed IoT and software systems from scratch. 
• Proven experience as a Lead Software Architect in fast-paced startup environments. 
• Strong technical leadership and ability to drive initiatives across multiple teams. 
• A track record of bringing products from ideation to production. 
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills. 
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience 
• Fluent English 

Core Technical Expertise 

• Distributed systems with hands-on experience in real-time, IoT-driven, large-scale data architectures. 
• Experience with computer vision–based AI systems. 
• Building B2C and gaming-oriented applications. 
• Cloud-native technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure). 
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance, fault tolerance, and cloud cost optimization. 
• Experience with big data pipelines, ML/AI platforms, and microservices architectures. 
• Background in privacy-by-design and secure data architectures. 
• Comfortable in Agile R&D environments, with a hands-on, ownership-driven mindset. 

Nice-to-Have 

• Background in gaming or hands-on experience building interactive, real-time user experiences 
• Strong enthusiasm for and solid knowledge of basketball and/or the broader sports ecosystem 
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
