Cloud FinOps Team Lead

We are looking for a strategic and highly analytical FinOps Team Lead to spearhead our Cloud Financial Operations practice. In this role, you will take full ownership of our cloud expenditure strategy across diverse business units and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and GCP). You will lead the charge in driving financial accountability, engineering efficiency, and cost optimization, ensuring every cloud investment translates into clear business value.

What You’ll Do

• Strategic Leadership: Manage and mentor a specialized FinOps team, defining roles and fostering a high-performance culture of collaboration and growth.
• Execution & Optimization: Prioritize and oversee large-scale optimization initiatives, ensuring that cost-saving projects and operational upgrades are tracked and executed flawlessly.
• Governance & Planning: Establish robust work plans and governance frameworks that align cloud usage with corporate policies and long-term organizational goals.
• Transparency & Reporting: Design and maintain advanced dashboards to provide executive leadership with clear visibility into ROI, savings achieved, and the impact of optimization efforts.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the strategic bridge between Engineering, Finance, and Procurement, aligning technical priorities with financial constraints.
• Innovation & Tooling: Lead Proof of Concept (POC) initiatives for emerging FinOps technologies, evaluating and selecting the best tools for enterprise-wide adoption.
• Advocacy: Articulate the value of FinOps best practices across the company, influencing decision-making at the highest levels.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of experience in Cloud Financial Management, FinOps, or a closely related strategic role.
• Deep Cloud Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of pricing models, service structures, and cost drivers across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Certifications: Must hold a certification in at least one major cloud platform. FinOps Foundation certification is a significant advantage.
• Proven Leadership: A track record of managing teams and delivering measurable, high-impact cost savings in large-scale, complex environments.
• Analytical Prowess: Exceptional ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into actionable business insights.
• Communication: Strong presentation skills, capable of speaking the language of both deep-dive engineers and C-level executives.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, CS, or a related technical field.

Bonus Skills

• Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting for cloud-native ecosystems.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting to drive programmatic cost reduction.
• Ability to navigate and thrive within a fast-paced, matrixed organizational structure.
