Head of Finance

The Opportunity

A high-growth, international technology business is seeking a Head of Finance to lead all financial activity for a core business unit. Reporting directly to the Business Unit Leader, this role is a key strategic partner to the senior leadership team and will play a critical role in driving performance, scalability, and governance across the business.

This position suits a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, changing environment and who goes beyond reporting to actively influence decision-making and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Partnering

• Act as a trusted advisor to the Business Unit Leader and senior stakeholders
• Lead forecasting and strategic review cycles, ensuring high levels of accuracy
• Deliver clear, insightful financial and management reporting, including performance commentary
• Identify risks and opportunities, driving operational and commercial improvements
• Support commercial decision-making on bids, contracts, and major initiatives

Finance Operations & Governance

• Oversee end-to-end finance operations, including month-end close, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, treasury, and compliance
• Ensure adherence to statutory, tax, audit, and regulatory requirements
• Own revenue recognition under IFRS, with particular focus on complex contracts
• Drive improvements to finance processes, systems, and controls to support growth and scalability
• Lead risk management activities and respond to internal and external audits

Leadership

• Lead, develop, and mentor a finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Support succession planning and talent development within the function

About You

• Fully qualified accountant (CPA or equivalent)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS (IFRS 15 / ASC 606)
• Proven experience operating at Head of Finance / Finance Director level
• Background in technology, software, or SaaS environments preferred
• Comfortable working hands-on as well as strategically
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP and finance systems advantageous
• Confident communicator, able to present financial insights to senior stakeholders
• Experience working across multiple entities, countries, and currencies is beneficial
