VP R&D

The VP R&D is responsible for defining and leading the company’s research and development strategy, execution, and organization. This role combines strong technological leadership, people management, and strategic thinking, working closely with the executive team to deliver scalable, high-quality products aligned with business goals.

• Define and own the R&D vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with company objectives
• Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing R&D organization, including Engineering, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Data, and Infrastructure
• Drive end-to-end product development: architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Establish engineering best practices, development methodologies, and quality standards
• Ensure delivery predictability, scalability, performance, and system reliability
• Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Sales, and Customer-facing teams
• Translate business and product requirements into technical solutions
• Manage R&D budgets, resource planning, and hiring strategies
• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Act as a key technical decision-maker and escalation point

• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles (Director / VP / Head of R&D)
• Strong background in system architecture and building scalable, production-grade systems
• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Experience working in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement when needed
• Strong understanding of modern development stacks, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD practices
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with executive leadership
• Strong people-management skills with a track record of building and retaining talent
